Auction at Gull Point -"Works of
Arts for the Parks ... An Endeavor for the Endowment".
A festive evening of fabulous food, the opportunity to purchase
fine works of art, and a joining of the *Okoboji Spirit* is
being planned for Sunday, Aug.29th at the Gull Point State Park
Lodge. This event will help to raise monies for an endowment
fund to benefit the Gull Point Lodge and the Mini-Wakan Shelter
House; two very beautiful, as well as historically significant,
enclosed structures, which sit on the shores of our wonderful
lakes. Make plans to attend this event and to give your support
to help ensure the future enjoyment of these structures for
generations to come.

Instead Senior Care
The first annual Mini-Wakan-athon Fun Run/Walk will be held on Saturday,
June 5th, 2010 at 8:30AM. The location will be on the Bike Trail
on the West side of Spirit Lake. Starting at Templar Park, any
person interested in a fun run/walk is invited to participate in
this event to raise awareness for the Mini-Wakan Shelter House
Restoration. The goal of the Mini-Wakan-Athon is: "Preserving
our history...one step at a time". Local vendors/organizations
involved with historical preservation will have tables set up at
Templar Park on the run/walk day (weather permitting).
Stateline Ride
The second annual Stateline Bike Ride will be held August 7th.
The ride will again include a choice of three routes – a family

(in the opposite direction of BRASL) and 50 mile route along the
Des Moines River, all starting and ending at Jackson County
Minnesota’s Brown County Park. The ride is fully supported with
commemorative t-shirts, maps with signed/marked routes, rest
stops, and support and gear crews sweeping the ride. Stop at the
rest stop at the gates of Mini-Wakan! A celebration will follow
at Brown County Park. |
